Odaily News: Sonic Labs (formerly Fantom) has officially announced the launch of its network-native stablecoin, US Sonic Dollar (USSD), which serves as the core liquidity layer for the Sonic ecosystem. USSD is built on Frax Finance's GENIUS-compliant frxUSD infrastructure and features institutional-grade reserve backing. Its reserve assets are pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and consist of tokenized U.S. Treasury products provided by institutions including BlackRock's BUIDL, Superstate's USTB, and WisdomTree.USSD is designed to capture underlying yield and redistribute it back to the ecosystem for token buybacks and user incentives. The stablecoin supports zero-fee minting across more than 10 chains, including Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum, via LayerZero. Users can perform 1:1 swaps using assets like USDC and USDT, and it supports flexible cross-chain redemptions through the CCTP protocol.

Odaily News Decentralized stablecoin protocol Frax Finance announced that it will upgrade North Star at noon PST on April 29 (expected to be early morning on April 30 Beijing time). With this upgrade, Frax Share (FXS) will be renamed Frax and become Fraxtal's gas token, replacing frxETH. FXS held on Fraxtal will be automatically converted to FRAX at a 1:1 ratio, and FXS held on Ethereum must be bridged to Fraxtal for conversion on or after April 29.

Angel investors including Gate Ventures, BackerDAO, Foresight Ventures, Black Label Ventures, the venture capital arm of film production company Black Label Media, and Frax Finance founder Sam Kazemian, Black Label Media's three co-founders Molly Smith and twin brothers Thad and Trent Luckinbill participated in the investment. Analog co-founder Victor Young said that the new round of financing brings Analog's total financing to $21 million. The project raised $16 million last year at a valuation of $120 million, a 150% increase in valuation in one year. Young said Analog launched its mainnet last month and will launch its token on February 6.
